One of the most celebrated acid jazz, funk and R&B ensembles of the past two decades, The Brand New Heavies will be at the festival with their original line-up featuring their lead singer N'Dea Davenport.

Three friends founded The Brand New Heavies in 1985, in the name of their admiration for James Brown: drummer and keyboardist Jan Kincaid, guitarist Simon Bartholomew and bassist/keyboardist Andrew Levy. The group became one of the pioneers of London's acid jazz scene during the rise of hip-hop, with their style blending 70s funk with soul. Well-known for their songs such as "Dream Come True", "Never Stop", "Stay This Way", "You are the Universe" and "Dream on Dreamer", The Brand New Heavies welcomed back vocalist N'Dea Davenport in 2006 and has been giving outstanding performances since then in Europe and the US. The Brand New Heavies released their latest album We Won't Stop in 2010.
